As most of you know I have been working on King Kong for the last couple of years, and now it is coming to an end here yet again! however I will not be leaving here yet...whilst I dont know what the heck I will be doing in the coming year it is kind of refreshing to know that I have the opportunity to go anywhere in the world again!! Places like New York, London, LA, or even back to Sydney. But for the meantime, my home is here in NZ, where the people I have come to know have been amazing and a chance to meet people from all over the world in a company such as Weta Digital, which boast something like 550 people from 35 different countries, some I will never know others I have become good friends with.
It is always hard at this time of a project when you know the end is looming and people begin to leave, that in many cases you won't see them ever again...but the beauty of this industry is that it is so small that you are bound to see someone you worked with before in a totally different country and company...King Kong has been an amazing experience to work on, and it will be sad to see it go, but glad to not have to be burning the candle at both ends for a while. As we are finishing, the question begs, as to how this movie will go? and will it be another oscar contender for Jackson after Lord of the Rings? It is kinda hard to believe that we are almost finished, but it will be amazing to see our work on screen...with this giant sized Gorilla, to take on the world!

Believe me life is so good in NZ, I reckon stay on for as long as poss if you can. But then again it'd be cool to have you over here in Londontown too, what do ya reckon?
Totally trying to just relax in this stage of life that I'm in too and enjoy it instead of always looking for the next challenge or change.

Hey Mike. Nice to see your blog, cheers for the emakl. Keep up the experimenting, it will take you somewhere for sure, like it has for me.
Am awaiting the release of the Hi-def DVD of Kong, will be looking for the VW add that is supposed to be on it. Take care and enjoy NZ while your there. I'm missing the hills already.
